What to Expect at Academy

BEFORE ACADEMY STARTS

Find Your Talents

Your talents are the things you do naturally well. We can find your talents by observing the way you uniquely solve problems. We know, it seems crazy! You will play a few games, solve a few puzzles and answer some questions. After you complete the assessment, your results will be loaded into your Dashboard. You must have your assessment complete before Academy. We will go back over your results live through the day.

9–10:30AM

Learn How You're Wired

If you are new to Purpose Pursuit and have never attended a live workshop before, you will need to arrive at 9 a.m. If you have attended the Purpose Pursuit Workshop before, you can arrive at 10:30 a.m. (or come hang out with us at 9 a.m. for a refresh).

After the assessment, you will learn to understand your results, and begin to find careers that are a perfect match for your unique talents. Before we jump straight into career and education decisions, we build a strong foundation of self-awareness. You will learn the WHY behind things are easier for you, challenging for you, and how to thrive based on the way your unique brain is wired!

10:30 AM–11:15 AM

Overcoming Indecision

Decisions can be exhausting! How do you know if you are overwhelmed, uncertain or stuck in fear? Lets discover ways to help you confidently manage discussion making for small and large decisions.

11:15 AM–12:30 PM

Creating a Path

How do you know what the best path is for you? This generation has more creative opportunties to gain skills and knowledge than ever before. Knowing which option is best for each person is possible! Lets explore all the wonderful opportunities available together and create an action plan where you can build a future you're actually excited about!

12:30 PM–1:15 PM

Lunch Break

Green Hills Library is home to Novella Cafe, which will be open for lunch. You are also welcome bring your lunch or to go off-site for lunch. Green Hills Library located in between HWY 152 and Barry Road. There are plenty of lunch options nearby.

1:15 PM–2:15 PM

Evaluating the Cost

Money, Money, Money, Money…….MONEY! Pursuing educaiton and training for your future has a cost. And it's significant! Lets figure out the true cost of education pathways together. We will also discuss paying for college and finding programs that ensure a positive investment of your time and money.

2:15 PM–3:15 PM

Presenting Self

Practice makes perfect...Well, it definitely makes confidence. Lets learn how to effectively communicate your talents (and feel better doing it) to others through learning to write and speak about our talents. You will use this skill when you are writing scholarship and admission's essays, writing resumes and introduction emails, and in any interview you have.

3:15 PM–4:00 PM

Practical Planning

Identify how you can set yourself up for success with optimizing daily tasks, as well as short and long term goal planning. Create a plan for when you have to complete tasks that are tough for your talent type. Everyone has challenges, you're not alone. Creating the right strategy for your talents is a skill that builds a firm foundation that will last!

4:00 PM–5:00

Managing the Tensions of Life

Do you have a peer, sibling or maybe even a parent that is just wired very differently than you? This may feel like annoyance, frustration or confusion. We're all wired differently, and that creates some uncomfortable dynamics sometimes. During this session we will discuss emotions felt when we are in conflict and tension with the world around us. We will identify and create a plan for when uncomfortable emotions arise.

Where do I schedule with my Purpose Coach?

Appointments are available in your Purpose Pursuit Dashboard. You can login by clicking Member Login anywhere on our website.

What if the assessment results are wrong?

If at any point you feel like your results just don't sound like you at all, let us know! We can have portions of your results reset.

How long do I have access to my results?

You will have access to your YouScience Talent Dashboard for 10 years from the time you complete your assessment.

Which assessment do you use?

The foundation of Purpose Pursuit is based on your YouScience Brightpath Assessment results.

What if my child doesn’t want to go to college or pursue a traditional path?

You’ve found the right home. Purpose Pursuit has been created to help each unique teen find their best fit to find a future they actually want to live in. Our Purpose Coaches will be presenting all paths available to today's teens.
